What’s the difference between joining the Club and the Subscription?

Joseph Jewell wine club members receive access to wines as they are released, two or three times per year. We extend 15-30% discounts on these regular shipments and any orders placed in between club shipments. We are grateful that most Club members stay with us for many years, and we ask for at least two shipments to be received given the generous discounts we offer. 

The Summer Subscription sprang out of requests for warm-weather wines to be delivered throughout the summer. There is no long-term commitment and you do not have to join the Club. However, Club members can add this on to their other membership(s) and still receive their discount. Two-day air shipping for these more frequent shipments is deeply discounted during these warm months to ensure your wine arrives fresh.

 

What is the difference between Appellation and Single Vineyard wines?

Appellation wines are a blend of selected single-vineyard wines that best represent an appellation, such as Russian River or Humboldt County, as a whole. Single Vineyard wines are specific representations of a unique vineyard and its terroir. If there is a vineyard name on the label, that is the indication that it is a single-vineyard wine, whereas appellation wines will only list the region with no reference to a specific vineyard.

 

What if I find myself with too much wine?

You can always skip a shipment and we’ll reconnect with you the next shipment. Although, in exchange for the generous discounts and complimentary tastings, we do ask that you stay with the Club for at least two shipments (or preferably forever). 

 

Can I pick up at the winery?

Yes, each wine club release will be followed up with a club-member-only pick-up party you can choose to attend, otherwise, we will hold your club to be picked up at your convenience within 30 days.

 

Can I ship wine to friends and family?

Yes!  You even have an option for a Gift message which we will hand write in a JJW notecard and ship to the address and date requested.  Joseph Jewell Wines make great birthday, thank you or employee gifts!

 

When do I receive my wines after my credit card is charged? And what if the shipment date doesn’t work for me to retrieve the package?

We typically ship within a week of charging your credit card, if weather permits. If the ship date for the club doesn’t work for your schedule, no problem! Simply email us your preferred ship date and we will reschedule your package.

 

Do you ship to my state?

We can not ship to: Alaska, Hawaii or Utah.

 

Do you serve food? Can I bring a picnic?

We do not have an onsite kitchen but we do offer a boxed lunch option with our Vineyard Tour. Check out our latest experiences here: https://josephjewell.com/experiences/   We do not allow picnic lunches during the tasting as it alters the pairing of our wines.

 

Are you dog-friendly? Child friendly?

Yes! Please mention it in your booking though so that we can make sufficient seating.

 

Do you charge for tastings?

Wine Club members get up to 4 complimentary tastings a year and we waive one tasting fee for every three bottles that non-club guests purchase.

 

What is your cancelation policy?

We ask for 24-hours notice for cancelations but you can always cancel your prepaid bookings.

 

How can I track my shipment?

We will send the tracking number to the email on file to enable you to follow your wines and plan their receipt.

 

What address should I use for shipping?

An adult signature is required to receive alcohol and also keep in mind weather conditions in case your package arrives before you can get to it.

 

When do Club benefits begin?

We offer complimentary tastings and discounts from the first day you join. 

 

What if my shipment arrived damaged?

Despite our best efforts to secure wine shipments, breakage sometimes happen. Contact us at wineclub@josephjewell.com we will rectify the situation.
