Adrian Jewell Manspeaker

WINEMAKER/CEO

I want my passion for wine and my pride in my work to show in every step of our company: from the labels and bottles, to our relationships with our customers, to the enjoyment of each bottle of Joseph Jewell wine. As we expand our production, my dream is to plant a vineyard of my own to specialize in Pinot Noir, my personal favorite varietal.

Born and raised on the north coast of California, Adrian Manspeaker always felt a deep connection to this fascinating land, with its mild temperatures and micro-climates around every corner.

After years of working in the construction industry, Adrian moved to Sonoma County where he was introduced to the world of wine. His connection to the land, growing up in the countryside sparked his interest in the story behind the wines he so enjoyed. He found himself intrigued with the evolution of wine, from fruit in the vineyard to barrel and bottle.

Being in Sonoma County, Adrian had the unique opportunity to pursue his passion. Adrian dove head first into the wine industry. He studied business management while he studied winemaking and viticulture at UC Davis’s renowned extension program. He worked at C. Donatiello for the 2007 crush, and lent a hand to Peay Vineyards during the busy time of the 2008 harvest.

He teamed up with close friend and now business partner, Micah Wirth. Micah, a Sonoma County local, came from a lineage of winemakers. His familiarity with the industry along with his current knowledge from working at Gary Farrell Winery proved valuable to the partnership. With no formal training in winemaking, Micah Wirth’s technique was the same as Adrian’s, self-taught and driven by a determined personality.
